Beginning a new school year can be challenging. I'm assuming no one will argue with me there. So last night as I said farewell to my dear summer break friend, I couldn't help but shed a few bitter tears. Then this morning I drove up to my building feeling a mixture of denial and mourning. How could it be that it's already time to start the process all over again?! Boo.. Hiss in fact...
But Then...
I stepped into the building and it was like I instinctually put on my invisible magic teacher cape (yes...we all have them). All of a sudden I was energized to the point of giddy! I glided down the halls and up the stairs to find my newly remodeled room; complete with new cabinets, a denim blue accent wall, wireless internet and even a sink! It was a challenge getting everything out of boxes and all the desks arranged just right but all in all, I had a great day. Now what was I all worried about again?
So after a long day of 'setting up shop' I decided that there would be no better way to begin this year than on this positive note...are you ready for your tip?
Teacher Tip #1 Don't forget to dry clean your magic teacher cape. It's easy to forget at the end of the year with all the testing and random junk you have to do before summer (it is, after all, invisible) but there's nothing like a nice, fresh magic cape to start the year!
